This route starts from the back road of Argassi, opposite the Church of Agios Spyridon as you enter the village. You will pass through picturesque houses before reaching the old Aqueduct. The aqueduct was built in the 19th century during the British occupation and its purpose was to supply water to the city of Zakynthos.
From there, you retrace your steps and turn left following the signs for Kanalio. You will encounter beautiful olive groves, beehives, and a charming stone house built shortly before the 1953 earthquake and later abandoned. One of the most notable sights is the bell tower of Akathistos, along with a variety of wildflowers and herbs depending on the season.
This is an area of Argassi that remains largely untouched, where nature dominates. At the end of the route, you will reach the Kanalio cantina, where you can enjoy a drink or a meal while taking in the impressive views.
