Kanalos to Kalamaki–Vrontonero

Kanalos to Kalamaki–Vrontonero

This mainly downhill route offers stunning views and a combination of natural and cultural highlights along the way.

As you descend, you will pass the church of Agios Andreas, peacefully located on a hilltop. A little further down, watch for freely roaming goats. The left turn you encounter later leads toward Skopos and connects with other hiking routes.

Near the beach, you will find a small monument, a touching tribute to someone’s beloved dog.

The route ends at Vrontonero Beach, which connects to the main stretch of Kalamaki Beach, offering a scenic and refreshing finish to your walk.

A Quick Safety Note

The summer heat in Zakynthos can be intense, so we recommend starting these hikes early in the morning or late in the afternoon to ensure a safe and comfortable experience. Make sure to wear proper footwear, carry enough water, bring some snacks, and take regular breaks to fully enjoy the journey.

Enjoy your exploration and let the adventure begin!
