As the name suggests, this scenic route starts at the base of Mount Skopos, passes through the “Abandoned Village,” and continues toward the old quarry before looping around the other side and returning to the starting point.
If you arrive by car, you will find a small clearing on your right where you can park before beginning the hike. The trail starts on a paved road, passing stone houses, wildflowers, herbs, and olive groves, with stunning views toward Vasilikos, Argassi, and Zakynthos Town as you ascend.
At the old quarry, you will find shaded spots, ideal for a short break before continuing. The return route follows a dirt path, wilder and denser, but rewarded with breathtaking views of the mountain and surrounding nature.
If you choose the left uphill path, it continues toward the summit of Mount Skopos, connecting with additional trails that lead to even more impressive viewpoints and historical landmarks.
